PAINT: Fluid Acrylics: (Goldens)  or Tubes (ie., Golden, Dan Smith, Liquitex), or a combination.    NO craft or student economy paint.

Titanium white, black, payne's gray

cadmium red med., alizarin crimson,

Hansa yellow light, Yellow ochre, cadmium yellow deep (or medium),

Pthalo blue (GS), Ultramarine blue, cerulean blue,

Sap green, burnt orange, dioxazine violet, 

Burnt sienna, raw umber, burnt umber

Opt.—indian yellow, turquoise, phthalo green, magenta

 

synthetic soft hair brushes (not bristle): Rounds #12, 8;  filbert #8; flat 1"and half inch

Bristol paper pad 18”x24” 

drawing board

cotton rags, and lg. water container  

color wheel: 12-color mixing guide type 

large paper palettes, (or any large white non-porous palette)       

2B, 6B drawing pencil and white plastic eraser

Char-kole dark soft sticks and kneaded eraser

plastic drop cloth

palette knife  

ruler and scissors

gesso and sponge applicator, 3”  or 4”

white artists tape

 

Bring later, after discussion in class:

Stretched canvases or “gessobords

Golden x heavy gel medium, satin or matte

gloss medium, or matte medium

sand paper 100-150 grit
